Guess the Answer

The Guess the Answer content type shows the student a generated image with a visible task prompt, keeping the answer hidden until the student decides to reveal it. The AI generates the image, the prompt, and the hidden answer from the teacher's request.

Generated content

  • A mandatory generated image representing the concept to guess — without it there is nothing to guess.
  • A visible task prompt about the image.
  • A hidden answer that is only revealed when the student presses the show-answer button.

When a syllabus or source document is uploaded, the image, the question, and the answer are drawn strictly from it, with concepts and terminology traceable to the document and no invented material.

Rules and behavior

  • The image is indispensable for this type: it is generated even when the "Generate images" toggle is off. The toggle is ignored by design because without an image there is nothing to guess — a generated image with the toggle off is correct behavior, not a failure.
  • The answer stays hidden until the student explicitly reveals it.
  • When the activity is requested in another language, the task prompt, the answer, and the reveal button text are all translated: no student-visible text may remain in a different language.

Example prompts

Without syllabus

An activity with a generated image, a visible question, and the answer hidden until the student reveals it:

I need an H5P guess the answer activity for the World History course: an image of an Egyptian pyramid with the question "Which civilization built this monument?" and the answer hidden until the student decides to see it.

An activity in English where every student-visible text, including the reveal button, is translated:

Prepare an H5P guess the answer activity in English for the History of the Americas course: an image of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with a question about the year of the event and its hidden answer.

With syllabus

An activity run with image generation turned off that still generates its image, anchored to unit 3 of the uploaded document:

I want an H5P guess the answer activity about unit 3 of the syllabus I uploaded: an image of a concept from that unit with a question about which point of the syllabus it belongs to and the hidden answer. (Run this prompt with the image generation option turned off.)
