File

The File resource (mod_resource) delivers a single downloadable document to students. The AI generates the resource with its name and description, plus the document itself — its output format and visual style controlled from the prompt.

AI-generated settings

This resource type emits no form settings: all File form settings keep their Moodle defaults. What the teacher influences from the prompt is the generated document — its content, output format, and visual style.

Generated content

  • Every generated document has a title, author, summary, and a body divided into sections, each section with a heading and its content, regardless of the output format.
  • The output format is chosen by the system according to the content, unless the prompt requests one explicitly (for example, a PDF document or a PPTX presentation). The file name matches the resource.
  • PDF/Word typographic defaults: body in Times New Roman at 12 pt, section headings at 14 pt, document title at 16 pt, line spacing 1.5, with no color applied.
  • Presentation (PPTX) defaults: each section of the document becomes a slide; typography is Arial with body at 18 pt, headings and title at 28 pt, subtitle at 22 pt. Content is kept brief and in short bullet points so text remains legible and does not overflow the slides.
  • Free-form format instructions are honored even when they do not correspond to a specific style field: a table of contents at the start, custom font families and sizes, numbered sections, key terms in bold, or a custom line spacing (for example, double spacing instead of the default 1.5).

Rules and behavior

  • Color styling is applied only when the prompt mentions color explicitly — words such as "color", "fondo" (background), "paleta" (palette), or "degradado" (gradient), or a hexadecimal code. Without any of those signals, the document uses the default style with no colors.
  • When colors are requested for a presentation, the generated text must remain legible over the chosen background.

Example prompts

Without syllabus

A minimal request: the system picks the output format and the document keeps the default typography with no colors:

I need a downloadable document for the Descriptive Statistics course with a summary of the measures of central tendency and dispersion, so that students have it for reference.

A PDF with a table of contents, custom typography, explicit colors, double line spacing, numbered sections, and key concepts in bold:

Create a downloadable PDF document for the Corporate Identity course with the summarized brand manual and a table of contents at the start. Use Arial at 11 points for the body, 16 for section headings, and 22 for the document title, with a dark blue primary color for the headings and a charcoal gray text color, double line spacing, all sections numbered, and the key concepts in bold.

With syllabus

A PPTX presentation with a green palette and light background, one slide per skill, based on unit 1 of the source document:

Prepare a downloadable presentation about the skills and competencies of the digital leader from unit 1 of the syllabus, one slide per skill. Use a green color palette and a light background.
