Grade Admitted
This section explains the grading configurations currently supported by Forum AI.
Forum AI supports grading in two scopes:
- Whole forum grading (global evaluation of the entire discussion activity).
- Ratings (evaluation per individual post).
Before enabling automated grading workflows, verify these assignment settings to ensure AI grading and feedback behave as expected.
Whole forum grading
Use this section when the course applies one final grade to the full forum activity.
In this model, AI evaluates participation and contribution quality at the forum level according to the configured grading method.

Grade type support (whole forum)
For whole forum grading, the plugin currently supports only the Point grade type.
Configure the activity with numeric points so AI grading can be processed correctly.

Grading method support (whole forum)
For whole forum grading, Forum AI supports all three Moodle grading methods:
- Simple direct grading
- Marking guide
- Rubric
This allows institutions to keep their preferred pedagogical model while using AI-assisted forum evaluation.

Ratings
Use this section when the course grades each forum post separately.
In this model, AI works at post level and supports rating-based grading workflows.

Aggregation type support (ratings)
For ratings, the plugin currently accepts all available aggregation types.
This gives flexibility to institutions that consolidate per-post scores with different Moodle rating strategies.

Scale support (ratings)
For ratings scale, the plugin currently supports Point scale only.
Use a numeric point scale to ensure AI grading compatibility in post-level ratings.
