Forum AI plugin permissions

The following table summarises the main permissions used by the Forum AI plugin and their default role assignments.

local/forum_ai:approveresponses​

Allows users to review, approve, or reject AI-generated forum responses before they are published, and to access the Forum AI management pages within a course.

With this permission, a user can:

  • Access the Pending Forum AI Responses page. Reports → Pending AI Responses

  • Access the Forum AI Response History page. Reports → AI response history

local/forum_ai:useaireview​

Allows users to use the Review with AI button inside the forum grading interface.

With this permission, a user can:

  • See and use the Review with AI button in the forum grading workflow.
  • Trigger the AI analysis/review UI that helps evaluate forum participation.
