Overview

The Forum AI plugin integrates artificial intelligence into Moodle forums to support teachers in feedback and assessment workflows.

Its main purpose is to analyze student posts and generate AI-assisted feedback that can be reviewed, edited, approved, and published by teachers or administrators. This helps maintain pedagogical quality while reducing response time in active forums.

When grading is enabled in the forum settings, Forum AI can also evaluate each post. In addition, it supports global forum grading with Moodle's standard methods:

  • Direct grading.
  • Rubric-based grading.
  • Marking guide grading.

This combination allows institutions to use Forum AI as a pedagogical assistant (feedback without grading) or as a full assessment assistant (feedback plus grading), depending on the teaching strategy of each course.
