Prerequisites

Who is this for? Site administrators.
Teachers and students typically don’t need to do anything here.

Tutor AI (local_dttutor) depends on the Datacurso AI Provider (aiprovider_datacurso). Tutor AI will not work until the provider is installed and licensed. No additional configuration is required in Tutor AI itself: the plugin reads the license from the Datacurso AI Provider.

Required​

1) Moodle version​

  • Moodle 4.5 to 5.2 (Moodle 4.5 is required by the Datacurso AI Provider dependency; 5.0 and later need Tutor AI 2.0.11 or later)

2) Datacurso AI Provider installed (install it first)​

  • Install the Datacurso AI Provider plugin, version 2026072300 or later.
  • Install the provider before Tutor AI. Moodle refuses to install local_dttutor 2.0.8 if aiprovider_datacurso 2026072300 or later is not already present.

3) Valid license key configured in Datacurso AI Provider​

  • Add/configure a valid license key in the Datacurso AI Provider settings.
  • Tutor AI uses that license directly; there is nothing to copy or configure in Tutor AI.

Common errors​

Tutor AI shows one of the following messages when a prerequisite is missing:
